WALTERBORO, SC - The Cape Fear Community College men's basketball team are now in second place in NJCAA Region 10. The Sea Devils defeated USC Salkehatchie 81-77 on the road in Walterboro, South Carolina tonight. The men trailed during the first half by nearly 12 points at one point, but poured on the steam to tie the game by halftime at 36-36. Both teams kept the pressure on during the second half, but CFCC came out on top.
"We showed tremendous resolve tonight," said head coach Ryan Mantlo.
Faronte Drakeford led the team with 19 points. Anthony Williams scored 15 points and caught 11 rebounds while Landon Atterberry and JT Murphy added 14 and 11 points respectively. This win takes the men to 4-2 in the NJCAA and 16-7 overall. The Sea Devils travel down the road to Aiken, South Carolina tomorrow to face Aiken Technical College at 4 p.m.
