Allendale, SC - Cape Fear men's basketball lost a heartbreaker on the road, falling to USC Salkehatchie, 97-96.
Trae Bryant led the team with 19 points, while Jacque Brown added 16. Alonzo Tyson, coming off a big performance last Friday, finished with 18 points and 17 rebounds.
The Sea Devils led late in the game. The Trojans had the ball on the final possession, and were able to knock down a game winning shot at the buzzer.
"This one stings," said head coach Ryan Mantlo. "We missed too many defensive assignments today. The shot they made at the buzzer was a heck of a play."
The loss snaps a 12 game winning streak for the Sea Devils. They move to 16-3 on the season, and 2-1 in conference play.
Their next game is Saturday, January 28th, where they will remain on the road and face off against Caldwell Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
