Wilmington, NC - Members of the women's Sea Devil basketball team and Sea Devil coaching staff volunteered their services the day before Thanksgiving by partnering with WRAAP (Wilmington Residential Adolescent Achievement Place) and the NC Food Bank to distribute holiday food to those in need. The Sea Devils helped pass out over 7,000 pounds of food that included meats, vegetables, breads, and desserts for several hours at the Ebenezer Baptist Church to over 500 Wilmington Residents.
Annually, CFCC Athletics and WRAPP team up for community events such as this one in order to provide a committment to service. WRAAP, promotes the academic & social development of local "at risk"children. They help with everyday challenges that exist amongst youth & families that continue to arise in an unstable economy; thereby creating the need for quality after school programs. WRAAP uses a student-centered approach to benefit these individuals by providing academic & social enrichment.
The Sea Devils are proud to be teammates with WRAAP; together making a difference in the surrounding community, outside the classrroom and off the field of play.
