Wilmington, NC - Coach Melissa Anderson and the CFCC women's soccer team picked up right where they left off last season, as the Lady Sea Devils picked up two results over the weekend at the North Campus Soccer Field.
CFCC recorded a 4-0 shutout over Howard CC in the opener and followed up with a 5-nil win on Sunday against Anne Arundel CC.
"We started out slow in the first game of the season, but settled down and found our way," said Anderson, who moved to 19-2 overall in two years as head of the Sea Devils women's soccer program. "I was happy with our overall performance over the opening weekend. We're starting to buy in to what we need to do to be successful."
Karlie Yeoman recorded four goals in the sweep and sophomore Nikki Tiller chipped in with one score and three assists.
Larissa Bonilla, Alex Strickland, Megan Fouts and Vivian Fernandez also tallied for the Sea Devils, who moved to 2-0 on the young season.
Cape Fear opens their Region 10 schedule at home against Spartanburg Methodist on Thursday, Sept. 11.
