WILMINGTON, NC– Cape Fear Community College head women's soccer coach Melissa Anderson has been named the assistant women's soccer coach at Appalachian State University, announced this week.
Anderson finished her second season as head coach for the lady Sea Devils, helping the program continue their success by winning the Region 10 tournament in 2013, and finishing runner-up in 2014. The Sea Devils were 31-6-1 overall under her guidance and leadership. In addition to her collegiate duties, Anderson served as a staff coach with the Wilmington Hammerheads Youth FC.
"Coach Anderson will be missed", stated Robert McGee, CFCC Athletic Director. "She clearly knows how to develop and mentor these young women and it will serve her well at the D1 level. The Sea Devil family wishes her the best in pursuing her coaching career."
