Women's Soccer Claims Region 10 Regular-Season Title
Cape Fear Community College women's soccer earned a hard-fought 1–0 victory on the road against Wake Technical Community College, securing a key Region 10 regular-season win.
The first half was a tightly contested battle, with both teams testing each other's defenses but unable to find the back of the net. Cape Fear gradually began to assert control, moving the ball efficiently and creating scoring opportunities.
In the 63rd minute, the breakthrough came. Isabelle Ingoe delivered a precise pass to Ava Searcy, who struck a composed shot from distance, threading it through traffic and into the net to give the Sea Devils the lead. From that point forward, Cape Fear remained disciplined, with Heidi Lewis, Avery LaBrecque, and Carrie Street anchoring the midfield and cutting off Wake Tech's counterattacks. Goalkeeper Jaime Maguire made eight saves to preserve the clean sheet, helping the team hold onto the slender lead.
The Sea Devils are back in action Saturday as they host Richard Bland on Sophomore Day for their final regular-season contest.
