Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear Community College saw its three-game winning streak come to a close in a 3-0 sweep against Catawba Valley.
"While the outcome may have not been what we wanted," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "I'm happy with our ability to fight back. We just need to figure out how to start off strong and continue through the remainder of the game."
Lydia Smith led the Cape Fear attacked 10 kills in the setback, while Sydney Robinson added seven kills along with a strong defensive game by Kaley Evans, with 16 digs and an overall effort from Kayla Mathias, who finished with10 digs and two service aces.
The Sea Devils fell to 7-3 in Region X play and 12-8 overall. Cape Fear returns to the court for the start of a two game road trip at Pitt Community College on Saturday, Oct. 4.
