Volleyball Rallies to Beat Bryant & Stratton

Virginia Beach, VA - Cape Fear women's volleyball defeated Bryant & Stratton College 3-2 to win their fourth match in a row.

The Sea Devils took the first set easily by a score of 25-13, but Bryant & Stratton evened the score by winning the second set 25-23. The third and fourth sets went to tiebreakers, with Cape Fear splitting them 27-25 and 26-28. In the fifth and final set, Cape Fear jumped out to a solid lead to win 15-6.

Madison Spencer led the team with 18 kills and five blocks, while Taylor Long added 13 kills, three aces, and four blocks. Meanwhile, Caroline Compton totaled 45 assists and four aces.

"This was a really exciting match, lots of lead changes," said head coach Heather Emborsky. "It really says a lot about a team that can keep their composure during tight sets and come home with the win. So proud."

The Sea Devils improved to 8-9 overall and 7-5 in conference. Next up for CFCC Volleyball is the Region 10 Conference Tournament, which will start on November 2nd and will be hosted by Lenoir Community College. Cape Fear's will be up against Surry CC at 4pm on Friday, November 2, 2018.
