Volleyball Cruises Past Guilford Tech

Wilmington, NC - The Cape Fear Community College Women's Volleyball team took little time to get their frustrations out from the opening loss of the season, cruising by Guilford Tech 3-0 on Tuesday night inside the Schwartz Center. The Sea Devils came roaring out of the gate winning the match in straight sets 25-6, 25-10, 25-7.

"It is always nice to get the first win of the season," said Sea Devil head coach Colby Rossier. "The offense had a chance to be a little creative tonight so that is exciting to see at this point in our season."

The win moves CFCC to 1-1 on the year. Cape Fear was paced by Natalie Jernigan and Angelica Biele who each recorded 9 kills a piece. Mya Klein and Naomi Pegues added 18 assists each. The Sea Devils are back in action Saturday, February 13th as they welcome Davidson-Davie CC and Louisburg College to the Schwartz Center. The tri-match begins at 11:00am with Cape Fear taking on Davidson-Davie CC, followed by Louisburg College and Davidson-Davie CC at 1:00pm. The final match of the day finds Cape Fear battling Louisburg at 3:00pm.
