Cape Fear vs Richard Bland
Cape Fear loses 66-75
Highlights: The Cape Fear Community College men's basketball team fought hard but ultimately fell short in overtime, losing 75-66 to Richard Bland College at home. The Sea Devils played strong for most of the game, holding leads at various points but struggling to maintain momentum when it mattered most. Despite a solid effort, they were unable to close it out in regulation and lost in the extra minutes.
AuMauri Tillman led the Sea Devils with 20 points, knocking down 7-of-12 shots from the field, including 3 three-pointers. He also added five rebounds and two assists. Jefferson McLamb contributed 16 points, hitting four shots from beyond the arc while adding five rebounds and two steals. Avion Pinner stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, as well as adding 4 assists. Cooper Hawk was a reliable presence inside, finishing with 6 points and 7 rebounds.
Despite the tough loss, Cape Fear showed flashes of strong play and looks forward to developing their ability to shift their focus in key moments when they lead the pack. "We have to learn how to play with a lead," says Head Coach Mark Lane. "That has been our Achilles heal - in the few losses we've had in conference play, they have been from situations where we struggle to maintain early leads."
