Wilmington, NC - The Cape Fear volleyball team won its second match of the day, defeating Central Carolina Community College 3-0.
Despite the final scoreline, the Sea Devils found themselves down in the first set. They fought back, however, managing to win it 25-23.
The final two sets went easier, with Cape Fear winning by scores of 25-18 and 25-14.
"We overlooked the team a little bit because we watched them two other times this day," said head coach Emily Coleman. "Once again, we showed fight when down in the 1st set."
Sophomore Payton Schoenleber led with 13 kills and 16 points for the match. Ali Jenkins finished with a game-high 21 assists.
The win improves Cape Fear to 2-0 on the season, and follows a come from behind victory earlier in the day against Potomac State College.
