Bolivia, NC - Cape Fear volleyball defeated Lenoir Community College 3-0 at home.
The Sea Devils entered the match winners of two straight. The Lancers, meanwhile, came in with a record of 9-6, and were winners of four in a row and five out of their last six.
Cape Fear had a fairly easy time in the first set, winning 25-17. Lenoir closed the gap in the in the second and third sets; however, and Cape Fear won just 25-20 and 25-23, respectively.
Still, they earned the win in straight sets, something head coach Emily Coleman was very pleased with.
"We were really motivated tonight," said Coleman. "I'm proud of the focus to finish through the 3rd set even when Lenoir picked up a little bit offensively."
Shilah Haumann finished with 9 kills, while Ali Jenkins led the team with 30 assists. Meanwhile, Karly Mathias totaled 17 digs.
The Sea Devils improve to 18-4 on the season, and 11-1 in conference play. They remain in first place in the NJCAA Region 10 East Division.
They will hit the road next to face Pitt Community College on Tuesday, October 24th. The match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
