Wilmington, NC  – Cape Fear Community College's men's basketball team lost to Richard Bland, 90-81, here Friday night in the first game of a two-day tournament.

It was the third loss in as many games for Coach Ryan Mantlo's squad.

Mantlo noted that the Sea Devils didn't box out under the boards. "We didn't do a good job tonight on the glass," he said. "We have to do a better job of limiting opponents to one shot."

Anthony Vanhook led Cape Fear with 25 points, followed by Demetres Abrams with 11.

Saturday was a different story Cape Fear Community College men's basketball team won their first game of the season, with a 94-49 victory over Stillwater Prep.

Coach Ryan Mantlo's club, 1-3, displayed a balanced offensive attack by placing five players in double figures.

"I thought we shared the ball very well," Mantlo noted. "We have to continue to get better every day."

 Leading the winners was Rob Folk with 14 points, followed by Demetres Abrams with 12 and JT Murphy with 11. Gervelle Kid and Demarcus Sanford pumped in 10 points each.

Cape Fear's next action is at Louisburg College next Wednesday in a 7 pm contest.
