Waycross, Ga. – Cape Fear Community College men's basketball team played valiantly here Friday night in a 102-93 loss to Chipola – the number seven ranked junior college team in the country.
"I'm very proud of our effort," noted Cape Fear coach Ryan Mantlo. "We came up a little short on the scoreboard but if we continue to play this hard, we will find the winning column more often than not."
Anthony Vanhook scored 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Mantlo's team. Osandai Vaughn wasn't far behind with 26 points and eight boards. Demetres Abrams hit on four three-points and finished with 14 points. Demarcus Sanford pumped in 10 points and Phil Wallace contributed with eight assists.
The Sea Devils are back in action tomorrow as they battle Game on Rise Academy. Game time is set for 3:00 pm.
