Sea Devils in 16th Place After Day 1

Newton, KS - After advancing to the NJCAA National Tournament for the eighth time in eleven seasons, the Cape Fear Community College men's golf team sits in 16th on the leaderboard after one day of action at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas.

Five Sea Devils are competing at the event alongside 19 teams from across the country.  Drew Baker led the way for CFCC in first round, as the freshman finished carded a 75 on the day.  Neville Burton followed closely behind with a round of 76 and Nicklaus Beecroft closed out at 79.  Anthony Gammon and Chase Brown rounded out the Sea Devils scoring as they carded an 81 and 84, respectively.

The Sea Devils hit the links tomorrow at 12:00 pm Mountain Time as they look to climb the leaderboard.
