In Short: CFCC Men's Basketball took control of a high-tempo game and were able to contain the Panthers to finish with a road win to kick off the new year.

Highlights:

After an extended break from formal gameplay moving into 2022, the Sea Devils arrived in Denmark, SC hungry to get back on the court as a team. While team chemistry and cohesion has always been one of the Sea Devils' strongest assets, their bond shined through especially last night when different substitution patterns and groups of 5 were able to work together seamlessly throughout the game.

Jikari Johnson lead the charge with 23 points and 4 rebounds to finish off the Denmark Tech Panthers last night. Sophomore Talton Jones played the most minutes across the floor for the Sea Devils and was a key component to forcing turnovers and obtaining defensive rebounds. Jakob Moore also had a good showing with 9 total rebounds and 17 points to keep their lead over the Panthers. Jalen McAfee-Marion helped solidify the win for the Sea Devils as he drained two clutch 3-pointers towards the end of the second half ti finish out the evening.

"Tough, gritty win on the road," remarked Head Coach Mark Lane. "It's never easy to play there…we got a big lead and then Denmark Tech made a comeback. We had to gut it out the rest of the way and we finished the game strong."

Up Next: The Sea Devils continue their road game schedule as they take on Gaston College in Dallas, NC this Saturday, January 15th at 2:00 PM.
