Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear Community College grabbed its fourth straight result in a 4-2 victory over Spartanburg Methodist in women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.
With the game tied at one, freshman forward Alyssa Coustenis tallied twice in the second half and classmate Raime Cooper put away the game-winner as the Sea Devils improved to 4-2 overall and 4-0 in conference.
"I was very impressed with the team's grit and toughness in the second half," said CFCC Coach Ryan Deppa. "The half time talk was not with a great deal of smiles, but to see them go out and respond in a positive manner against a very good team shows a great deal about their character as a team. It was a good win for the girls."
The Sea Devils Karlie Yeomans scored a nice touch volley off a corner from Jenna Pecorini just three minutes into the match, while Katie Causey notched two assists and Raime Cooper added one assist. Goal Keeper Emily Valenti made eight saves in the result.
Cape Fear begins a four game road swing at Louisburg College on Tuesday, September 22.
