In Short: Cape Fear Men's Soccer falls to #13 ranked Johnson County at home for their first match of the season.

Highlights: With a young team still learning new systems and set pieces, the Sea Devils worked hard to defend against Johnson County's many attacks. After the first goal in the first half, the Sea Devils went on a stint of excellent passing patterns up the midfield that led them to many opportunities on their offensive end, but Cape Fear struggled to finish. With a few communication breakdowns combined with fresh faces making a few unforced errors, the Sea Devils fell 0-4 to a fit, well-seasoned Johnson County team.

Goalkeeper Aydan Scharf had 10 saves and was a force to be reckoned with in the backfield.

Final Thoughts: "We have a lot of young guys who are still learning our systems," says Head Coach Giovanni Vlahos. "We also need to up our fitness level in order to compete with these teams. We are looking forward to Sunday's matchup and making the necessary changes needed to succeed and play our game our way."
