Cape Fear vs Virginia Peninsula

Cape Fear wins 14-0

Highlights: Cape Fear Men's Soccer delivered an overwhelming 14-0 victory against Virginia Peninsula, controlling the game from start to finish.

The Sea Devils set the tone early with a goal from Mason Rone in the 3rd minute, assisted by Tanner Small. Small followed up with another assist in the 11th minute, setting up Harold Macias for Cape Fear's second goal. Small's offensive prowess was a commanding force for Cape Fear - finishing the match with 4 assists to go along with his 2 goals—one from a penalty kick and another in the second half, assisted by Cuitlahuac Gonzalez.

Cape Fear's authority over the match was apparent as they capitalized on opportunities to spread the ball across the field, giving all players chances to shine. VA Peninsula struggled defensively at times, which led to committing fouls that awarded Cape Fear two penalty kicks—both of which were converted, one in each half.

In total, Cape Fear recorded 5 corners and a staggering 38 shots. The other goal scorers included Chance Davis (2), Jack Watkins (1), Mason Rone (2), Cuitlahuac Gonzalez (2), Zaiere Evans (1), Ricky Mundy (1), and Harold Macias (2). While Small led in assists, Macias and Gonzalez each contributed 2 assists, with John Roberts, Jack Watkins, and Chance Davis adding 1 assist each.

"Proud of the boys for a great showing today," says Head Coach Giovanni Vlahos. "We are taking every opportunity to prepare for more crucial Region 10 Conference matchups this week against the #1 and #2 teams respectively. Working on getting everyone healthy and putting on a great showing in the final stretch of regular season play."
