Hampton, VA - Cape Fear women's basketball won in dramatic fashion Saturday, defeating Bryant & Stratton College 70-69.
TaKwana Bland and Desaree Green lead with 16 points each, while Destiny Campbell scored 14.
Down by two with six second remaining, Cape Fear's Jaleesa Dillard knocked down a 3-pointer to give her team the lead and the win.
Afterwards, head coach Lori Drake praised the way her team played down the stretch. "I was very proud of our effort and growth for forty minutes today. We gave up the lead twice and stayed composed to pull back ahead."
The win means the Sea Devils remain unbeaten in conference play, and Drake likes where her team is at as they enter the Thanksgiving break. "We are heading into the break 2-0 in conference and we feel good about what we are continuing to build."
Cape Fear improves to 3-2 overall with today's win. Their next game is scheduled for November 30th, where they will take on Wake Tech Community College in Raleigh. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
