WILMINGTON, NC--- The Sea Devil Women's Basketball program will look to extend their winning streak to five in-a-row on Saturday afternoon in a Region 10 conference match-up versus Clinton Junior College.
During Cape Fear's current winning streak, they have won four straight Region 10 conference games with wins over Fayetteville Tech CC, Bryant & Stratton College (VA), Wake Tech CC, and Guilford Tech CC. Two of those wins came against undefeated opponents (at the time) Wake Tech CC and Guilford Tech CC, and one of the wins came in a game-winning fashion, Bryant & Stratton College (VA) when Jaleesa Dillard's 3-pointer with 9.2 seconds left was the game-winning shot.
Cape Fear has also outscored their opponents (301-270) during these four games; have held their opponents to 37.1% from the field, while shooting 45.2% from the field themselves. Cape Fear has also had 16 instantances where a player has scored double-digit points in a game as well during the streak.
Sophomores TaKwana Bland, Destiny Campbell, and Desaree Green, lead the Sea Devils offensively leading up to Saturday's contest versus the Golden Bears. Bland is the team's leading scorer at 13.1 points per game, Campbell is second at 12.7ppg, and Green is third at 10.6ppg., and freshmen Jaleesa Dillard and Taylor Foulks each are averaging 7.9ppg.
Key role players to watch for the Sea Devil Women's Basketball program are: Christina Caesar (4.1ppg), Shanekia Jackson (3.9ppg), Ari Young (3.7ppg), and Nikia Wallace (2.9ppg).
Cape Fear's last regular season loss came on November 13, when they fell (40-70) to Wallace State Community College in Day 2 of the South Georgia Technical College tournament, which was 27 days ago.
As for Clinton Junior College, they are led by Golden Bears' Head Coach Jessica Blair, the former Clinton Junior College and Morris College women's basketball player. Clinton Junior College is coming off a (76-90) road defeat against Spartanburg Methodist College on Thursday evening.
