Bolivia, NC - Cape Fear women's basketball kicked off the Brunswick Community College Christmas Classic with a commanding win over Caldwell Community College 73-46.
Destiny Campbell lead the team with 21 points and three rebounds, while Desaree Green finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.
The Sea Devils actually trailed 19-17 at the end of the first quarter, but then outscored Caldwell 34-5 in the second quarter to head into halftime up 51-24. The two teams played even in the second half, which gave Caldwell no chance of making a comeback.
Cape Fear was efficient offensively, knocking down 56.4 percent of their shots, and scoring 38 points in the paint. They also outrebounded Caldwell 40-15.
Thursday's win is the seventh straight for Cape Fear, who improve to 8-2 on the season.
They will play next on Friday against Delaware Tech Community College in their second game of the Brunswick CC Christmas Classic at 2:00 p.m.
