In Short: The Sea Devils came up short this weekend after incurring losses to two competitive non-conference opponents over the weekend.

Highlights:

With a few key returners and many fresh faces, Cape Fear Men's Basketball stepped onto the court this week excited to compete against high level competition in non-conference play. The Sea Devils hit the ground running as they trailed former-nationally ranked Harcum by 2 at the end of the first half of their first matchup.

The Sea Devils fought hard against the Bears, but ran out of gas towards the end of the game as Harcum was able to solidify a win. Cape Fear fought for every opportunity throughout and were able to showcase the abilities of many players across the roster.

Moving into Saturday afternoon's matchup against the Monroe Mustangs, Cape Fear struggled to find their rhythm and capitalize on opportunities on the offensive side of the court. Freshman Keishon Porter led the Sea Devils on offense with 15 points while Khalil Marshall also stepped up to score 13 for Cape Fear.

The Sea Devils unfortunately were not able to pull out a win against the Mustangs, but look forward to getting back in the gym and adjusting before their next competition.

"Really proud of our guys' effort this weekend," says Head Coach Mark Lane. "We're learning to keep our composure through tough situations and we're excited to be back in our gym next weekend."

Up Next: Cape Fear Men's Basketball will host the Tyrek Coger Classic tournament in the Schwartz Center Friday 11/11-Saturday11/12 - where they'll compete against Harford and Hagerstown.
