Wilmington, NC - Women's basketball defeats Southwest Virginia 76-72!
The Sea Devils win their seventh conference game of the season. They took a large lead in the beginning of the game, only to almost lose that lead going into the fourth quarter. Akyia King led in scoring with 14 points.
Coach Lori Drake says "We came out strong and took a solid 20-point lead, then in the fourth quarter we allowed them to crawl back in the game. It's a conference win and we will take it".
They are now 9-6 on the season and 7-2 in conference play.
Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 15th as they take on Guilford Technical Community College. Tip off is set for 6:00 p.m. in the Schwartz Center.
