In Short: The Sea Devils Women's Soccer team travelled to Columbia, MD for the Howard Dragons Classic tournament this past weekend where they won both of their matchups versus non-conference opponents.

Saturday: CFCC vs Lackawanna

Score: CFCC 8, Lackawanna 1

Location: Columbia, MD

Highlights: After a successful home opener this past Wednesday, the Sea Devils carried that momentum into their Saturday matchup versus the Lackawanna Falcons. The team's ability to control the tempo of the match while staying poised after every goal kept the Falcons from recovering, although they fought hard to regain control in the second half. With relentless offensive attacks led by Freshman Mia Marino and Kristarae Poell, the Sea Devils were able to swiftly finish the match and contain Lackawanna down to the final minutes.

Sunday: CFCC vs Brookdale

Score: CFCC 4, Brookdale 2

Location: Columbia, MD

Highlights: The Sea Devils were able to close out the weekend with another solid win over the competitive Brookdale Jersey Blues. From the forward line to the backfield lead by GK Kinley Fedoronko (Fr.), every member of the team was locked in and fought hard to keep the Jersey Blues at bay. Freshman Natalie Haldeman and Grayson Harris both played a major role in keeping the midfield contained both offensively and defensively, giving Kristarae Poell (Fr.) further opportunities to score key goals for the Sea Devils. Freshman Defenders Alex Dompier and Lindley Schutte shut down numerous offensive breaks by the Jersey Blues and were able to keep their front line honest throughout the match. The Sea Devils finished the weekend as a cohesive offensive unit and are excited to keep the momentum rolling into their next match at home.
