Wilmington, NC – Coach Emily Coleman's Cape Fear Community College volleyball team honored its sophomores at the Schwartz Center Friday while edging Northern Virginia CC, 3-2.
The Sea Devils won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-14 before NOVA tallied two set wins in succession at 25-14 and 25-19 to set up the final and concluding climax in which the Sea Devils prevailed, 15-12.
"We celebrated our sophomores tonight and I love them to death, "an elated Coleman commented. "They will be missed next season."
Those sophomores include Bryana Garcia, Heidi Milliken, Kara Peterson, Kaley Welsh and Taylor Simpson.
Cape Fear extended its conference record to 14-2 and 19-2 overall.
The Sea Devils' next action is November 1st as they travel to Hickory, NC for the Region 10 Tournament. Cape Fear heads into the tournament as the #2 seed. Pairings will be released later this week.
