Women's Soccer Suffers First Loss of Season

Spartanburg, SC- Women's soccer lost their first game of the season 3-1 to Spartanburg Methodist on Saturday.

It was a slow start to the game as the Sea Devils went into half time down 3-0. It looked like the start of a comeback as Jayana Nicholson scored a great far post goal off an assist from Haven Best six minutes into the 2nd half. The Sea Devils couldn't seem to finish on the offensive end.

Coach Ryan Deppa says "We weren't clicking in the first half, and that falls on me. The overall effort in the 2nd half was much better. We have smart kids here, we all will learn from the first half of this game and be better for it in the long run. Spartanburg Methodist College played a great game today".

The Sea Devils are now 3-1 in conference play and 4-1 on the season. This is still an incredible team and they look to get back in the win column.

Their next game is scheduled for Sunday September 15th at USC Lancaster. Kick off is set for 12:30 pm in Lancaster, NC.
