Volleyball Beats the Bobcats

Volleyball Beats the Bobcats

Wilmington, NC (September 15, 2023) - Cape Fear Volleyball returned to their home court for the first time since the Cape Fear Invitational tournament and swept the Bryant & Stratton (VA) Bobcats 3-0.

The Sea Devils put their foot on the gas, and kept it there throughout the match with phenomenal passing and solid digs on serve receive. Newcomer Quincy Vanderhorst's ball distribution was top-notch and set up the Sea Devils for much success going over the net. Vanderhorst ended the match with 18 assists, followed by 4 kills for the Sea Devils.

London Ipsen was on the top of her game with 13 kills with a .478 hitting percentage for the night. Freshman Olivia O'Kane added an edge to Sophomore Abby Morse's typical double block prowess - starting a spark off of the bench that encouraged her teammates to finish the match strong.

The Sea Devils worked together cohesively to quickly and deceptively distribute the ball and seal the deal with the Bobcats.

"Overall super happy with our passing specifically tonight," says Head Coach Colby Rosser. "Glad we finished it out and we look forward to our next Region 10 Conference matchup."

Cape Fear Volleyball will take on the Louisburg Hurricanes on Wednesday, September 20 at 6 PM in the Schwartz Center.
