Cape Fear Finishes The Weekend 2-0

Wilmington, NC (September 23, 2023) - Cape Fear Volleyball hosted their first-ever conference pod in the Schwartz Center throughout the day on Saturday afternoon - where Guilford Tech, Fayetteville Tech, and Davidson-Davie met to compete in Region 10 Conference matchups.

The Sea Devils first took on the Davidson-Davie Storm in a competitive four-set game to start off pod play. Mackenzie Davis finished with 15 kills, 5 aces, and 25 digs for Cape Fear, while London Ipsen earned 12 kills and 21 digs. While the Storm kept the Sea Devils honest and forced them to make big plays, Cape Fear was able to pull out the win after four sets. Alivia McNally and Quincy Vanderhorst also led the charge with a total of 53 assists to finish the match.

Cape Fear then swept the Guilford Tech Titans in a 3-0 win where they dominated on the attack. Nora Pitt earned 8 kills while Olivia O'Kane and Madi Henry shared a total of 11 kills between them. London Ipsen returned to put 5 aces on the board. The Sea Devils earned their win quickly by minimizing errors and focusing on keeping things simple, communicative, and clean.

"Happy to get 2 Region 10 wins over solid teams," says Head Coach Colby Rosser. "Great job from behind the service line today and the setters distributed the ball well throughout. Looking forward to continue building on this success next week."

Cape Fear Volleyball will return to the Schwartz Center on Tuesday, September 26th, at 6 PM to take on the Fayetteville Tech Trojans.
