Volleyball Wins Over Wake Tech

Raleigh, NC (October 4th, 2023) - Cape Fear Volleyball traveled to take on the Wake Tech Eagles last night for their first matchup of the week. This win puts Cape Fear's record at 12-1 for their season thus far.

Each set was competitive as the Eagles fought for every point against the Sea Devils. Cape Fear struggled with serve receive throughout the match, but were able to hold their ground and finish with a 3-0 sweep. While the Sea Devils had difficulty on defense as a unit, they managed to end the night on top with their deceptive attacks and solid ball distribution.

Quincy Vanderhorst took control of the Sea Devils' attacking plays with 26 assists and 5 kills. Mackenzie Davis continued on her hot streak with 13 kills at 15 digs to keep the Sea Devils competitive when plays came down to the wire. Leah Davis kept the Sea Devils in good position with 25 digs to cap off the night.

"We had a bit of an off night in serve receive, but managed to maintain against a scrappy Wake Tech team," says Head Coach Colby Rosser.

Cape Fear Volleyball will return to play next week as they take on the Lenoir Lancers on the road in Kinston, NC on Monday, October 9th at 6 PM.
