Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear women's basketball won their fourth game in a row after defeating top conference ranked Bryant & Stratton College 72-60 on Monday.
Two Sea Devils scored over 20 points, with A'Terria Quick leading her team with 24 points, and Autum Morings adding 21.
Quick's 24 raises her average to 12 points a game. She also leads the team in 3-point percentage at 36.4 percent. Morings, who has started in all 16 games this season, is averaging 9.3 points per game and a team best 7.8 rebounds per game.
Monday's game saw the top two teams in NJCAA Region 10 face off. It was Bryant & Stratton's first conference loss of the season, and it moves Cape Fear within half a game of the leaders for the best conference record.
"I couldn't be more proud of how our ladies came to compete against the #1 team in our conference," said head coach Lori Drake.
Moving forward, coach Drake wants to see her team compete on a most consistent basis throughout the game.
"As we continue conference play, we have to work on our consistency for 40 minutes."
Cape Fear improves to 14-3 overall and 9-2 in conference play. They hit the road for the next game, which is scheduled for Wednesday, January 23rd, against Lenoir Community College. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
