Bolivia, NC - Cape Fear women's basketball rebounded from a close defeat in the previous game, defeating local rival Brunswick Community College 74-43.
Ayonna Cotten led the Sea Devils with 16 points, while A'Terria Quick finished with 15.
Cape Fear came into Wednesday's game following a 72-70 loss to Clinton College on January 26th. For head coach Lori Drake, the win over Brunswick was the type of response she wanted to see from her team.
"Tonight was a solid bounce back win for us," said Coach Drake. "It's never easy going to Brunswick as they are always gunning for us. I am proud of how our ladies responded after the Clinton loss."
Despite the loss to Clinton, Cape Fear has put together a strong 2019 so far, going 7-2 in the month of January. They move to 16-4 on the season, and 11-3 in conference play, which places them 3rd in the Region 10 standings.
Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday, February 6th, where they will travel to Raleigh to play Wake Tech Community College at 7:00 p.m.
