Wilmington, NC (September 7th, 2023) - Cape Fear Men's Soccer celebrated their Sophomores on Saturday afternoon for their last official regular season game at home this season against the Wake Tech Eagles. After a delayed game start, the matchup between the Sea Devils and the Eagles kicked off at approximately 4:15 PM.

The match was fast-paced from the start on both sides of the ball as the Eagles and Sea Devils took turns making solid attacking runs down the pitch. The Sea Devils were the first ones on the board with a cross that was finished strong by the forward line.

The game continued to become physical with both teams attempting to strong-arm each other in 1 v 1 possession plays. Cape Fear was called for an intentional foul inside of the box which resulted in a PK goal from Wake Tech to tie the game. However, Wake Tech was called for the same foul in their defensive box and Cape Fear regained their lead with a 2-1 scoresheet in the second half.

Both teams fought hard for possession while Cape Fear continued to make big plays to break down Wake Tech's attacks. The strong will and workhorse mentality of the Cape Fear forward and midfield lines earned the Sea Devils another goal in the second half to solidify their 3-1 win.

While yellow and red cards were exchanged on both sides of the match, both teams fought equally hard and played a passionate, tenacious game.

The Sea Devils will travel to Axton, VA to take on Patrick & Henry at 4 PM on Monday, October 9th.
