In Short: Women's Basketball pulls out a close win against the Guilford Tech Titans and keeps their streak alive.

Highlights:

Cape Fear Women's Basketball continues their perfect season with a very tight win against the Guilford Technical College Titans in Jamestown, NC.

Cape Fear took the floor last night confident, but ready to work. The atmosphere on the road versus the Titans is always a challenge and their program overall has continued to build positively upon itself year over year.

Overall, the score throughout the matchup stayed dangerously close from quarter to quarter. But Cape Fear took advantage of their offensive possessions and solidified their ball control early on to minimize turnovers - which had been a running burden in a few previous games. Senali Moss led the charge offensively in the first half and totaled 19 points by the end of regulation.

Defensively, Cape Fear has also improved when it comes to allowing the opposition to make big drives in the paint, as well as eliminating extra time for the Titans to set up for 3-pointers. But Guilford Tech managed to sneak by in a few well-executed plays in both halves to keep things close.

Arriving in the 4th quarter neck-and-neck, Cape Fear knew they had to shut Guilford Tech down offensively in order to pull out the win. So they stayed composed and reacted quickly on defense - forcing the Titans to earn multiple shot clock violations and turn the ball over to the Sea Devils.

Shaylin Pollock never fails to amaze us as she drained all 6 of her foul shots in the 4th to solidify the win.

"Our defense has gotten a lot better, which we are really proud of," says Assistant Coach Taylor Todd-Williams. "It really helps our offense look good and sets us up to do what we do best: capitalize in transition."

Up Next: Cape Fear will travel to Chesapeake, VA to take on Bryant & Stratton (VA) on Saturday, January 21st at 1 PM.
