Anderson Named Head Women's Soccer Coach

Wilmington, NC - Melissa Anderson joins the Sea Devil's staff as head coach of the women's soccer program. Anderson has seventeen years of coaching experience and has coached and competed at every level including high school, collegiate and professional.

Melissa has spent the last three years as the head coach for several high level teams within the Greensboro United Soccer Association. She was the head coach at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School for three years where she was able to maintain a record of 30-4-2.  BMCHS advanced to conference regionals all three years, propelling Coach Anderson to both Regional and Conference Coach of the Year honors for her efforts.

Before moving to North Carolina, Melissa lived in Maine. There she coached both club and high school soccer. She achieved much success with all her teams, winning back to back State Championships at Falmouth High School, as well as three straight years of Region 1 State Championships with Maine Coast United. Anderson also received Coach of the Year honors in her first year at Falmouth.

Coach Anderson's experience went beyond the club and high school level when she was named head women's soccer coach at Saint Michael's College, a NCAA Division II institution. At Saint Michael's, she maintained a highly competitive program, while providing a strong support system by which players could balance the demands of academics while playing a collegiate sport.
