Sea Devils Defeat Patrick Henry

Wilmington, NC - The Sea Devil women's soccer team traveled to Martinsville, VA for conference play with Patrick Henry Community College. The Cape Fear women dominated early scoring their first goal just minutes into the contest as Brie Dimino finished a pass from Nicole Tiller.  Just ten minutes later Armani Boswell was able to connect on a cross from Anna Mixon to give CFCC a 2-0 lead. The Sea Devils finished the first half in style as Nicole Tiller took a cross from Alexis Thompson and buried it in the back of the net.

Cape Fear did not let up in the second half getting goals from Alex Duty, Anna Mixon, Kayla Bates and Nicole Tiller to earn a convincing 7-0 victory.   "To have six different players score, and several more take part in each opportunity, really speaks to how strong a team we are at every position," said Coach Anderson.  "So many teams only have 1 or 2 players that do all their scoring so it is encouraging to know that we have that many scoring threats on our roster."

The win moves CFCC to 8-1 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.  The Sea Devils will travel to USC Lancaster this Wednesday for their next conference match up, before returning home to face Patrick Henry Sunday.
