Sea Devils’ Women Blank USC Salkahatchie

Allendale, SC – Displaying one of its best efforts of the season, Cape Fear Community College's women's soccer team blanked USC Salkahatchie's Indians, 6-0 here Thursday afternoon.

"The team executed almost flawlessly in every level and that was evident with the complete team effort in every goal scored," noted Sea Devils' coach Melissa Anderson.

Cape Fear extended its conference mark to 8-1 and 12-1 overall.

Armani Boswell put the visitors ahead at the two-minute mark with an assist by Sarah Clinard.  An unassisted goal by Nicole Tiller increased the lead to 2-0 at 36-minutes.  Two minutes later Tiller fed Anna Mixon as Cape Fear sprinted to a 3-0 advantage.  Not to be outdone, Mixon assisted Jamie Berti at 39:15 to increase the advantage to four goals.  Tiller executed her second assist of the contest – passing to Cheyenne Gordon, who tallied at 51:35.  A penalty kick score by Berti at the 58-minute mark concluded the scoring for Cape Fear.

The winners travel Saturday to face Wake Tech in Raleigh. Game time is set for 8:15 p.m.
