Sea Devils Earn 8-0 Victory to Claim Championship

Wilmington, NC - Nicole Tiller scored three times and assisted twice Saturday afternoon, leading Cape Fear Community College to an 8-0 shutout over USC Lancaster in a women's soccer contest.  With the win the Sea Devils claimed the 2013 Regular Season Title, CFCC's fourth straight championship.

Teammate Jamie Berti scored twice and assisted twice as coach Melissa Anderson's team stretched their record to 15-1 overall and 11-1 in conference play.

Anna Mixon, Breeanna Fulton and Samantha Culbertson rounded out the Sea Devil scoring in the second half.

"It was a great way to end the regular-season and gain momentum into the playoffs," Anderson noted.

With the regular season crown, Cape Fear has earned a first round bye in this weekend's Region 10 Tournament.  CFCC will face the winner of USC Salkehatchie and Patrick Henry, this Saturday in Lancaster, SC.  The Sea Devils are slated to hit the pitch in this semi-final matchup at 9:00 am with the Championship to follow Sunday at 12 noon.
