Cape Fear vs Louisburg
Cape Fear wins 3-0
Highlights: Cape Fear Women's Soccer secured a 3-0 victory over Louisburg in a match dominated by the Sea Devils, who controlled possession for most of the game and consistently created attacking opportunities.
The first goal came in the 10th minute when Lillian Schmitt found Brynli Baker at midfield. Baker took on a 1v1 challenge, slipping past the defense and meeting the goalie uncontested for an easy finish, putting Cape Fear ahead 1-0. Despite the Sea Devils' relentless attack, Louisburg's goalkeeper stood tall, making many solid saves - including a penalty kick save in the 37th minute of the first half.
In the second half, Baker extended the lead in the 22nd minute, converting a penalty kick earned by Kenliana Dixon, who was fouled in the box. The Sea Devils continued to dominate possession, keeping Louisburg on their heels and rarely allowing them to threaten on the attacking side of the pitch.
The final goal came in the 13th minute when Baker delivered a perfect cross to Johanna Morales, who tapped it in to seal the 3-0 victory. Though Cape Fear struggled to finish their attacking runs, but the defensive control and midfield dominance secured a comfortable win.
"Shoutout to Brynli Baker for her attacking presence today, as well as impact players Heidi Rebollar, Bryleigh Beaver, and Avery Reichert for solidifying our win." says Head Coach C.W. ponton. "Very pleased with the win and we look forward to carrying this with us into Sophomore Day on Saturday."
