Sea Devils Men's Soccer Splits Weekend in Maryland

The Sea Devils used balanced scoring Saturday afternoon to defeat the College of Southern Maryland 3-1, in La Plata Maryland.  CFCC built a 2-0 halftime lead off goals from Derek Yates and David Segura. Emmett Lunceford, in his first game back from injury, scored the final goal of the evening to secure the victory.  The win improves the Sea Devils record to 10-3-3 on the season.

Sunday pitted CFCC up against CCBC Essex.  The contest remained scoreless through most of the first half, but in the 41st minute Shawn Geary found the back of the net to give the Knights a 1-0 halftime lead.  Essex would add two more goals before Ed Lytle notched a goal for the Sea Devils, off an assist from Derek Yates.  This would prove to be the only goal of the afternoon for Cape Fear, as they fell 4-1.  With the loss, the Sea Devils record stands at 10-4-3, and 6-2-3 in Region Ten play.  CFCC currently sits alone in second place in Region 10 standings with three games remaining.

The Sea Devils hit the road once again this Wednesday for a pivotal match-up with USC Salkehatchie. Kick-off is set for 2pm in Allendale, SC.
