Sea Devil Women Stay Perfect

Louisburg, NC – Coach Lori Drake's Cape Fear Community College women's basketball team won its second game of the young season in as many outings Friday night with a 60-54 triumph over Hagerstown.

"I am proud of my team finding a way to hold on and win today," Drake commented. "When things got tough, they battled even harder."

Shakerya Morrison led the winners with 16 points and 13 rebounds plus three steals.   Kristina Rumplasch also collected 16 points and 8 boards.

Saturday, Cape Fear Community College's women's basketball team continued their winning ways with a solid offensive and defensive performance en route to a 72-45 victory over visiting Princess George.

Coach Lori Drake's club won its second game in as many nights and captured their third victory of the season without a loss.

"I was extremely pleased with our ladies this weekend," the Sea Devils coach commented. "We are beginning to play like a cohesive unit and learning to play through adverse moments together."

Eboni Gilliam and Kristina Rumplasch led Cape Fear with 20 points each. Gilliam also grabbed 11 rebounds and three steals. In addition, Rumplasch collected eight boards.

The Sea Devils next contest is at home versus Spartanburg Methodist on Saturday, November 16th at 2 p.m.
