Sea Devils Fall on Road

Jamestown, NC - The Lady Sea Devils opened back-to-back games with a hard fought loss 70-61 to Guilford Tech on Friday night.

Three Cape Fear players scored in double figures, led by Shakerya Morrison, who finished with 21 points and seven rebounds. Porsha Buchanan added 14 in the setback, while Kristina Rumplasch finished with a double-double, 12 points and 10 boards.

The Sea Devils fell to 4-5 in conference and 12-5 overall.  

A last second three-point attempt by Kristina Rumplasch rimmed in and out as Cape Fear fell to Catawba Valley 62-59 in Hickory on Saturday afternoon. 


Eboni Gilliam paced the Sea Devils with a double-double, 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Rumplasch added 18 and pulled down nine boards.

Cape Fear finished up a January that saw the Sea Devils on the road for eight games throughout the month, six of which they lost to fall to 4-6 in conference and 12-6 overall. 

The Sea Devils get back to their home floor for on Saturday, Feb. 1 against Patrick Henry CC and Wednesday, Feb. 5 versus Wake Tech.
