Sea Devils Win Again

Supply, NC - The Cape Fear Community College women's basketball team returned from the holiday break and moved to 11-0 with a 77-43 win over Black Hawk East College on Saturday night.

Porsha Buchanan led the Lady Sea Devils with an all-around effort as the sophomore dropped 20 points with six steals and four assists.

"After having eight days off for the Christmas break, then coming back for five days of practice, we really needed to get that game and win under our belt," said CFCC Head Coach Lori Drake. "We are heading full force into conference play from now until March, so we must get focused and prepare every day to be the best. I am very proud of these young ladies thus far, and we are looking forward to a strong second part of the season."

Kristina Rumplasch added to the CFCC attack with 16 points, while former New Hanover High School standout Shanta Williams added 13 points, four steals and three assists.

The Lady Sea Devils return to Region X play at Brunswick CC on Saturday, Jan. 11. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. in Supply.

"We will spend this week focusing on the start of the spring semester and classes as well as preparing for BCC," said Drake.
