Petersburg, VA (October 14, 2023) - Cape Fear Women's Soccer traveled just outside of Richmond, VA to take on conference opponent, the Richard Bland Statesmen, on the road and notched their final conference win of the season - firming up their place at the top of the Region 10 Conference with a 6-0 record.

The Sea Devils started out slow but managed to put their first goal into the net in the 8th minute of play - courtesy of Maya McDonald.

Lauren Laux tucked in a loose ball to place another one in for the Sea Devils in the first half, followed by another clutch goal from McDonald. Kailie Ross, Lillian Schmitt, and Johanna Morales (all newcomers for the Sea Devils this season) each tacked on an additional goal to finish out the match with a strong lead. Alissa Campano also played an integral role in the Sea Devils' success on attacking runs throughout the game.

"Very pleased with how every player got significant playing time, and we ended the regular season undefeated," says Head Coach C.W. Ponton. "I'm proud of the team and what we have done throughout the regular season."

The Sea Devils will host Richard Bland again at North Campus Soccer Field for the first round of Region 10 Tournament play on Thursday, October 19th at 1:30 PM.
