Volleyball Takes Down Pitt CC

Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear women's volleyball defeated Pitt CC 3-0 on Saturday.

The Sea Devils won the first two sets by close margins of 25-19, and 25-23, but pulled away in the third and final set to win 25-18.

Naomi Pegues led the team in assists with 20. She also had 7 digs and 2 aces. Callie Weaver led the team in digs with 11 and Maryellie Carpenter finished with 6. Lauren Adams led the team in kills with 9 kills, Angelica Biele finished with 8 kills, and Emily Steyskal had 6.

"Great performance from the team all around! We had to work around a very solid Pitt CC block and find the holes in the defense and we did that. Really proud of the team on a solid win", said head coach Heather Emborsky.

Cape Fear improves to 7-3 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.

Their next match is Thursday, October 3rd, where they will face Bryant & Stratton College in the Schwartz Center at 6:00 p.m.
