Volleyball Rallies to Win

Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear volleyball rallied to beat Surry Community College 3-2 on Saturday.

The sets were all farily close and went back and forth.  The first set was tightly contested, but Cape Fear came through to beat Surry 25-21.  The Sea Devils fell short in the second set 25-17.  They rebounded in the third set and came out on top 25-14.  Surry took the fourth set 25-17.   The final set was a nail-bitter going point for point towards the end with Cape Fear finally pulling through to win 16-14 taking the match.

Ceri'on Ellis Mosley led the team with 11 kills, while Taylor Long had 9 kills.  Angelica Biele led the team in assists with 16, and Naomi Pegues finished with 13 assists.

"Once again we faced a tough opponent and we really pulled it together when points mattered most and squeaked by with another big win! Happy for the team and their hard work, it's really paying off", said head coach Heather Emborsky.

Now standing at 11-3 on the season and 7-1 in conference play, Cape Fear will return to the court later today to face off against Central Carolina CC at 4:00 p.m. in the Schwartz Center.
