Cape Fear vs Richard Bland

Richard Blan wins 3-1

Highlights: The Sea Devils started off strong by winning their first set over the Statesmen, but ultimately fell short as the match progressed - struggling offensively to work around the opposition's block. The Sea Devils dominated the first set and had bright moments in the following sets, but it wasn't enough to overcome the consistent pressure from Richard Bland.

Emma Anderson posted a solid double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs, while Mackenzie Davis added 7 kills and 4 block assists. Nevaeh Ortiz contributed with 5 kills and 4 block assists, and Addi Olson chipped in with 5 kills. On defense, Quinn Meiser led the team with 16 digs, followed closely by Addy Sechrist with 13 digs.

Emma Schwarting made an impact in the fourth set with 3 quick kills, but the Sea Devils couldn't mount a full comeback. Despite the loss, the team values the tough competition and recognizes the need for more aggressive serving to win against stronger opponents.

Cape Fear vs USC Sumter

USC Sumter wins 3-0

Highlights: Cape Fear battled USC Lancaster until the final points were earned in the first set, but ultimately lost their fire and could not close out, suffering from unforced errors that proved costly throughout the match. Despite staying competitive, offensive misfires and a lack of energy prevented the Sea Devils from securing the win.

Quinn Meiser anchored the defense with 18 digs, while Brooke Bombatepe delivered a solid all-around performance with 30 assists and 5 kills. Emma Anderson posted a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs, and Mackenzie Davis added 9 kills and 12 digs.

Final Thoughts: "Today wasn't our team's strongest performance overall," says Head Coach Colby Rosser, citing the high number of errors and lack of required emotional intensity. "We will get back to the drawing board this coming week as we lock in on our necessary improvements moving forward to play at the standard we know we can reach."
