Cape Fear vs Louisburg, Cape Fear vs Wake Tech

Cape Fear wins both games 3-0

Highlights: Cape Fear Volleyball continues their strong season with back-to-back sweeps over Louisburg and Wake Tech.

Against Louisburg, Cape Fear started strong, cruising through the first two sets with relative ease. However, set three became a battle of endurance, with both teams going point for point. Despite being high-error at times, the Sea Devils pulled through with key contributions from Mackenzie Davis, who led the team with 13 kills, 10 digs, and 2 aces. Addy Sechrist, stepping in at libero, added 16 digs and 3 aces. The team demonstrated impressive effort, especially given the absence of several players, making the third-set victory all the more satisfying.

In the match against Wake Tech, Cape Fear came out with a dominant first set. Wake Tech pushed back in sets two and three, making them competitive, but Cape Fear's defense stood firm. Jordyn Turbeville and Emma Schwarting made crucial plays at the net, with Schwarting contributing key blocks to close out the second set. Emma Anderson sealed the win with a powerful swing, finishing with 12 kills. Schwarting added 11 kills and 4 blocks, while Brooke Bombatepe dished out 23 assists and collected 12 digs. Sechrist anchored the defense with 19 digs, and Turbeville chipped in 12.

It was a fantastic team effort, as Cape Fear secured sweeps in both matches and demonstrated their readiness for the challenges ahead.

Final Thoughts: "Very pleased with the effort we've had across the board today," says Head Coach Colby Rosser. "Happy to have secured another 2 strong sweeps."
