Cape Fear wins 3-0
Highlights: After celebrating the CFCC graduating class of Sophomores on the team, Cape Fear Volleyball secured a 3-0 sweep over Lenoir in a tit-for-tat match, where the Sea Devils pulled away late in the first two sets before grinding out a closer third set. While the Sea Devils fell out of rhythm at times and allowed the Lancers to expose the gaps in their play, Cape Fear finished out every set on top.
Strong serving runs from Addilyn Olson and Addy Sechrist helped Cape Fear maintain control when the sets tightened.
Emma Anderson and Nevaeh Ortiz led the offense with 8 kills each, while Olson made her presence felt at the net with 4 blocks. Defensively, Sechrist handled a solid 26 digs, while Mackenzie Davis contributed with 20 digs of her own, ensuring the Sea Devils stayed solid on both sides of the ball.
Final Thoughts: "We weren't totally on our game tonight, but we battled through and won some big rallies to pull the momentum back onto our side to finish the match," says Head Coach Colby Rosser.
