Cape Fear wins 3-1
Highlights: Cape Fear Community College Volleyball moved one step closer to the Region 10 Championship, defeating Fayetteville Tech 3-1 in the quarterfinals. The Sea Devils began the match with a slow start, dropping the first set as Fayetteville Tech came out strong and set the pace. However, Cape Fear quickly rebounded, dominating the next three sets with focused, tactful play to finish with the win.
Sophomore Mackenzie Davis led the way with a well-rounded performance, tallying 13 kills and 14 digs. Addison Olson added a solid seven kills, while Nevaeh Ortiz, Emma Schwarting, and Olivia O'Kane contributed five kills each, creating a balanced offensive front that Fayetteville Tech struggled to contain as the match wore on. The final moments showcased Cape Fear's poise under pressure, as Emma Baker delivered back-to-back kills to close out the fourth set and secure the win. "Always happy to get a win during tournament time when the pressure is on," said Head Coach Colby Rosser. "It was great to see us respond well and finish strong after a shaky start."
The Sea Devils will carry this momentum into the semifinal round, with hopes of advancing further in their pursuit of the Region 10 title.
